Principal Message

The Norwalk Board of Education appointed Jennifer Sweeters as the new principal of Kendall College and Career Academy on May 21, 2024.
 

Sweeters is a proactive, adaptable and result-focused administrator. She always answers the call to lead and has proudly served the communities of Norwalk High School, Wolfpit Integrated Arts School and Nathan Hale Middle School, each as an assistant principal, over the past five years.

In those positions, she has supported and trained teachers through professional development and curriculum implementation; monitored student behavior; built and maintained positive relationships with diverse stakeholders such as parents, volunteers and community agencies; and built productive relationships with her families and students.

Sweeters started her career as the Director of Curriculum and Education at Titan Tots Preschool in 2003. She then joined Norwalk Public Schools, serving as a classroom teacher at Brookside Elementary School from 2007 to 2017.

She first stepped into an administrator role in the district at the Norwalk Pathways Academy in 2017 where she helped to develop career and vocational pathways for students as well as build partnerships with community agencies. The next year, she became the Curriculum Instruction Site Director at Columbus Magnet School (now Concord Magnet School)

Sweeters also served as the Administrator and Educational Director for Shore Haven Country Club’s Summer Camp from 2006 to 2009.

Sweeters earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish from Western Connecticut State University in 2004 after receiving an Associate degree in Early Childhood from Norwalk Community College in 2000. She later earned her Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport in 2005, her 6th and 7th year equivalent from the University of Bridgeport and Massachusetts Liberal Arts College, and her Administrative certification from Sacred Heart University in 2016.
