Letter from the Principal

Dear Kendall Parents/Guardians,

Before you know it your child will graduate from elementary, middle, and high school. Kendall students will go to college or trade school to prepare for careers, many of which have not even been created yet. They are future artists, athletes, doctors, educators, lawyers, police officers, politicians, and much more!

This school year Kendall will move to the next level because staff, parents, and students will collaborate so that “students can develop as leaders and critical thinkers” as our vision statement indicates. In order for that to happen, students must feel safe physically and emotionally, and they must have the support to achieve their academic goals. Listed below are some important action steps to support with our collective success.

Physical and Emotional Success

  • Improved security equipment
  • Revised dismissal and recess plan
  • Full implementation of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System)
  • Partnership with Norwalk Grows to support with healthy living

Academic Success

  • Professional Learning on the SIOP Model (Researched-based strategies to support with instruction)
  • Partnerships with UCONN’s SPARK Program to support advanced learners
  • myON online reading access for all grade four-five students
  • Connections with Mathnasium of Norwalk to advance our math focus

Our partnership will ensure that your child achieves all of his/her goals, I look forward to celebrating with you.
