Letter from the Principal

Dear Kendall Community,

We are excited to enter into the 2018/2019 school year at Kendall, “where college and career begins!” This will be a year of excellence and transformation. Last school year there were many successes. We won the STEM Expo for grades 3-5, and there was a new title created for our second grade team. The PTA coordinated events throughout the year and raised money to support with enrichment trips and technology. In addition, our preliminary results for SBAC (the state assessment aligned with college and career readiness) predict that Kendall students exceeded the school improvement goals. Listed below are updates planned out so that students can continue to “develop as leaders and critical thinkers” as our vision statement indicates.

Physical and Emotional Success

Fulltime Security Guard, Psychologist, and Social Worker; Morning Meetings that incorporate PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System); Trauma-informed Training for all teachers and paraprofessionals

  • On the first day of school we welcome parents to come and cheer their student on as they enter school to begin a path of empowerment and growth. We are inviting our community partners to join us as we celebrate each student entering the building.

Please note: The letter with the name of your child’s teacher should indicate if kindergarten students will attend school on August 29th or August 30th.  Also, there will be no school on September 4th, 10th, or 18th because of holidays.

Remember that our school doors will open at 8:35am and each student should be seated in their classrooms by 8:55am. I am available if parents would like to meet with me individually during the week of August 20th. Please call Sharon Kubelle to set up a meeting.
